Builders and GC finances require special care. We keep your finances optimized for projects, producing accurate WIP, job profitability, retainage, under/over billings, and more. We also handle your QuickBooks for you.
We work with
Generic accounting software and generalist bookkeepers don't understand construction math. If your WIP schedules are inaccurate, you risk losing your bonding capacity, running into bank funding and draw issues, missing thousands in unbilled retainage, and miscalculating your actual project profitability.
Clean entries aren't enough without a finance expert who reviews them. With no one owning the close, unbilled WIP quietly writes itself off, you lose visibility into which jobs are actually profitable, and margins erode without warning. When the bank or surety asks for statements, you need financials you can trust.
Banks and sureties expect clean WIP schedules and financials, and every month without a finance expert reviewing your numbers is margin you can't see. We are taking on our first 5 clients now.
Whether you need a finance expert on your books every month, a structure built right, or a clean slate.
Reliable numbers and a finance expert to talk them through, month after month.
We manage your books and review them with you, so you make decisions on current, accurate job-level numbers and company financials. We use AI tools to speed up the routine work, and every number is still reviewed by a person.

Behind on your books or unsure the numbers are right? We'll review what needs attention and get your records back on track.

"I've seen great construction companies leave free money on the table, and it's never because they're bad at the work. They love to build. They just don't have anyone whose job is to watch the numbers. That's the job I take on." - Adi Singla, Founder
Hi, I'm Adi Singla
As someone who has transformed how large Engineering and Construction companies look at their financials, by building systems that are robust and stand the test of time, I am now bringing that same discipline to mid-size and smaller E&C firms through Scope & Ledger. After a career designing complex ERP financial systems for Fortune 500 companies, I focus on what owners need most: knowing where every job really stands.
My work is service-first. I own your revenue recognition, WIP schedules, job costing, retainage and AIA billing, and I turn them into financial reporting that your leadership, your bank and your surety can rely on. Your books are never handed off to an entry-level clerk: I personally manage the financial oversight, from the monthly close to the conversation about what the numbers mean.

It depends on your business's size, industry, and goals - and it can change as you grow. We'll walk you through the tradeoffs and recommend (and maintain) the method that gives you the most accurate picture, not just the easiest one to track.
If you collect deposits, retainers, or payment before the work is finished, that cash isn't fully earned yet. We record it as a liability until the work is actually delivered, so your financials reflect what's really going on instead of overstating your profit.
Every client gets secure, role-based access to their own bookkeeping portal - you can view monthly expenses, submit reimbursements and mileage, and see generated reports, all in one place.

Yes. Your data is protected with secure authentication and strict access controls, so only you and your authorized team members can see it.
Yes. We provide bookkeeping, job costing, and fractional controller services for custom and spec home builders, remodelers, and home flippers. Each home or project is tracked as its own job, so you can see what each one really earns.
A fractional controller owns your financial close and reporting without the cost of a full-time hire. For contractors, that means accurate WIP schedules, job costing, retainage tracking, AIA billing, and financial statements that your bank and bonding company can rely on.
A work-in-progress (WIP) schedule shows, job by job, the contract value, costs to date, estimated cost to complete, and whether you are over- or underbilled. Banks and bonding companies use it to judge how profitable and well managed your open jobs are, so an inaccurate schedule can delay funding and draws or reduce your bonding capacity.
Yes. Beyond bookkeeping and controller work, we provide CFO-level support: annual budgeting, job-level budget vs. actual, and a monthly reporting package with a plain-language summary for you, your bank, or your bonding agent.
